My bday is over and I'm now 21! :S Not that I'm particularly proud of it cos I HATE BEING OLD!!! And I still feel damn childish like exactly the same as how i was when i was 17 or 18. SIGH. Well but I had a nice bday! Thanks YANRU who organized both my bday surprises with the hkies Fanny and Yingwei, and the Sg Tingyu! Well I did vaguely suspect that the hkies would appear at our lunch but all the same, I'm equally touched and happy!! :) :)As for the tingyu surprise, i was REALLY surprised cos i din expect it at all and was still exclaiming to yr abt the mean guy on the korean drama we watch everynight when she came in with tingyu and the lighted candles and cake! HAHA. Ok I shall kope some photos from her and put it here. (I will be able to take my own photos starting next week!!)
They're our new friends from HK and fellow exchange students in the same (ok, similar but better, since they're modules were settled long ago) boat as us! This place is Donata, a pizza place outside our school gate, where they treated me to a lunch of pizza, japanese curry, lagsane! The food was goood but the company was better ;)REALLY touched once again thanks YR!

Doesn't this make you drool?? And it's nicer and much cheaper than Pizza Hut in Sg too!! HAHA.

After lunch we went to the opposite condo to check out the rental agency but they said we can't rent an entire flat for a few months only and that if we want, have to rent rooms in flats that already have occupants. which is :S cos u never know what kind of people are out there. so we are probably not moving out after all unless we find better deals i guess? Sigh there are really pros and cons of staying in this place but I shall not dwell on that :)

Yanru and I proceeded to 西单 after that while the 2 of them went back to hostel. Xi Dan is a shopping place that we've heard about from nearly everyone. When you ask people where to go for good shopping, nice food, even buying books, the answer will be "Xi Dan"! So we went there to take a look and true enough, that place has loaaaads of shopping malls from high class to far-east like ones, many eateries, a gigantic bookstore (although the books aren't cheap! the pirated book uncle outside school is still better haha). We drank GREEN TEA WITH RED BEAN ICE BLENDED DRINK which was super yummy haha (note that those are my absolute favourite flavours in the world). This shop should be quite well known as there were lots of ppl queuing and cutting queue (typical tiongs). Oh btw, it's starting to get hot here these few days so it's not weird to drink iced drinks now! Haha I was nearly sweating although I only wore one long sleeved t-shirt! Then we tried to find the 小吃街 that apparently has my fave food (aka red bean pancake) as our friend claimed but we asked 3 gong ans and they all said 这里没有美食街,去王府井! Well so we gave up and ended up shopping where I bought another jacket and sort of coerced yr into buying a down jacket hahah (but they are seriously worth it!! they cost like nearly 5 times more in SG ok) Fine but I think I'm spending too much on unneccesary stuff (the stupid 麻辣香锅 being a prime example) and should learn to adopt more frugal ways starting NOW.

Then at night after our routine Korean drama (which has a super handsome guy in it btw), yr disappeared outside to 'call her parents' and she returned with tingyu and my surprise! Which was tea-lights arranged as '21' and 2 cakes. OMG i was so stunned ok. Really touched!! :)
This is my pretty surprise, so nice right! The cakes are in the middle. And Tingyu coincidentally bought the cake of my fave flavours without knowing that those are my fave flavours, hahaha, which is good for me cos i got to eat 2 green tea-red bean things on my bday, which must be a good sign right?
And here's a pic of it unlighted. The colours r so nice!!!

Well today has been a good day, one of the nicest days upon arrival in AT land.. hopefully, the goodness of it will continue. Well, I'm still annoyed over the modules thing and the teacher just keeps telling us not to worry and saying she will register the courses for us. I emailed her this morning (sounding quite rude in it) and she replied me with the same old ans i.e. not to worry. Argh whatever. I'm so sick of her answers!! As for the module that was cancelled, I highly doubt there is any chance of appealing for it to be uncancelled or anything. Got to take another elective instead..which is =x but not like we have any choice.

Yanru!! I thought I'd hate spending my bday in Tiong land too but it turned out great! Haha really thanks loads for planning the surprises for me :):) Must have been tricky during the supermarket thing hhaha! Actually I totally didn't suspect anything cos of Fanny's bread last night until the supermarket hehe.

And a big thanks to everyone who sent me bday greetings online and facebook!! Also to Su Ngin who was the first person to give me a bday present (Jodi Picoult's Nineteen Minutes, which I'm still reading now, haha) a few days before I left! SU NGIN!! hope u're reading this!! I know u're damn stressed but try not to worry abt studies TOO much but study study study hard and before u know it, exams will be over k?? Jiayou!!

And to Vanessa (I shall not call you Punei for once), Pauline and Val, Geline, Kahyin who all sent me present/cards via postage, but I haven't received any of them yet, THANKS SO MUCH!!!!!!! I really hope the address given is correct!!!! If not I'll feel guilty for life! Esp to punei!! I will check with the receptionist first thing tmr!

And Shirlynn: Your going away "present" to me wins too. But that forest did not wish me happy bday at all. So how? Your interpretation of my facebook quiz is totally wrong leh shir!!!! Hahaha:) but seriously its ok la, i REALLY don't like already, really I swear.

I made my sister make the HongKong dessert 砵仔糕 i.e. my blog display pic (which I was craving for one night) at home so that my family could show it to me on Skype and I could pretend that Im eating it. So that is my temp "birthday cake" from my family and they happily forgot to take a photo of it before eating it! Although it looks nothing like the pic on my blog hahaha ;)

Ok that's all and I'll try to stop ranting about this school because there are many unfortunate people out there and we are already very lucky to be able to study in university, much less go on exchange.. so I must try to be more appreciative! Well I have a 10am lesson tmr so I better go off soon! (I usually get up at 11 plus nowadays haha)
好,再见个位。I have become very cheena as you can all see.. but don't worry, I won't become AT. I'll revert back to non-cheena when I return.
