Argh. Stupid proxy sites. It worked fine the last few times but suddenly I can’t log into my lj account anymore. Who ask this country to block livejournal lah!!! When I feel like blogging I can’t even blog! And I can’t even visit my own blog. Thus I shall change to blogger. Hello! Welcome to my new blog!! Though it's ugly but I'm not going to bother about the design for now.

I’m really thankful for my parents’ friends, Kam uncle and auntie, whom I haven't met since I was in primary school and they were still living in Singapore. They brought me out to dinner with their family last Saturday, to this Korean BBQ restaurant which is very nice (and high class, since they are so rich, haha). Auntie made brownies for me to bring back. Then they were asking whether I bought biscuits, snacks etc to keep in my room and I said I didn’t cos I don’t really feel like buying those China brands found in the school supermarket. They were very concerned and didn’t want me to go hungry so after dinner, they insisted on stopping by at an American grocery store which they frequent (although I didn’t really want to, cos I didn’t even intend to eat snacks!) and bought me snacks and cup noodles of international brands. I was soooo touched lah!!! Although I felt quite bad cos they refused to let me pay. But I was seriously so touched. Sigh. I’m so envious of them, they get to live the upper end expat Beijing lifestyle! And thank goodness for her brownies, I think they make really good comfort food (though fattening, of course).

The food here is really soaked in oil and salt. Yucks. You tell them 'shao you' I think they just nod and ignore you. Sigh. I shall try saying 'bu yao you' next time. Well but thinking about cooking makes me super sian cos of the gross looking 'kitchen' and also having to wash the dishes in the toilet. Oh eww, I really miss HOME. =(

I'm totally craving chocolate now. I think it's because of the brownies. And I sound like some food-obsessed crazed person cos all my blog entries seem to be about food. But I really miss WAFFLES and those freshly baked bread from bakeries, which I haven't seen around here. Provence!! I think I'm weird cos other people probably miss stuff like chicken rice and bak kut teh but I'm missing its bread. Well, maybe I'm not the typical Sg-food Singaporean? But I do really miss my favourite Mee Pok with fishballs from Queenstown. =(

Well it's been nearly 2 weeks since our arrival in Beijing now. I can't say that time crawled by but it was exactly fast as well.. Am I going to be able to survive another 4 months here?? We shall wait and see. Probably as the lessons start full swing, I'll become more stressed especially because I'm taking 2-3 modules in CHINESE. I really really really hope that NTU will approve of those English ones that I submitted in the course matching. Pray for me, everyone!!!!!!

I miss my family a lot. And I just burst into tears like a loser! Goodbye
